The construction walls have been removed and guests are getting their first look at the new look for Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Disney wanted to make the new dining experience a little more upscale for select meal periods, and the space retains much of what it used to be with a fresh look throughout.

First, here’s a look back at the old look for Kona Cafe.

And here’s what we could see this morning with the area still closed off to guests, but with the construction walls removed.

It looks like the final touches on the location will include signage here at the entrance.

A new mural is on the ceiling at the main entrance.

It looks like there was a complete refresh of the chairs, carpet, lighting, and decor.

The open kitchen remains.

Crews were cleaning the flooring in front of the restaurant while Cast Members were training with mock service.

Kona Cafe reopens to the public on November 1, 2022.
