According to a recently published agenda for next week’s Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board meeting, the Board of Supervisors will approve legislative findings and declare the Reedy Creek Development Agreement null and void. Here’s the relevant text of the published agenda:
Approval of legislative findings regarding and declare the development Agreement and Declaration of Restrictive Covenants entered into by the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. void ab initio and direction to litigation counsel regarding same.
The Board met yesterday to hear from lawyers who said that the Development Agreement between Walt Disney World and Reedy Creek was “illegal and unconstitutional”. For more on their arguments, check out our recap article below.
It’s unclear what the next steps will be after that, and Disney has remained silent in recent weeks as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has ramped up attacks on the company.

The fact that disney is being quiet about this should scare them. They really think disney didn’t notify the third parties? Disney has the best lawyers in the country, they really think they didn’t do what they needed to do?
Exactly..one group is learning checkers while the other is playing 3-D chess
Desantis must not like politics because he is flushing any career prospects down the toilet after his governor term. This was a dumb fight to pick and he is looking like a real fool before trying to run for president.
Can someone declare desantis unfit, unfair and unconstitutional
There is nothing that Disney can do. Doesn’t really messed up and should recognized that it had a sweetheart deal with Florida. No other entity has that deal, so Disney has no argument that Florida is taking anything away. Florida has a much strange argument that it is treating Disney like any other entity in the state. This is where Disney is helpless if it wants to take the legal route.
When Disney goes radio silent that’s a warning sign.Ron and the boys better buckle up, it’s likely to be a bumpy ride.
I don’t know how Floridians aren’t embarrassed to be represented by such a vindictive man child.
I’m embarrassed to say I’m from Florida. My fear is DeSantis could do to the whole country what he has done to my state. How can a person be a bully and a p***y at the same time? Our previous ex President Trump. DeSantis looks like a fool, a whiny little boy because Disney didn’t agree with his say no to gay policy. DeSantis is on a rampage to turn Florida into a conservative ultra religious state. He says it’s a freest state in the country? I think not.
I wonder if Disney regrets listening to a small minority if their employees now. Bob Iger is fairly progressive but he wouldn’t have been as stupid as the previous CEO to directly challenge the governor and state legislature of Florida. It was a self-inflicted wound by Disney.
This is weird. DeSantis is fighting with one of its main sources of income. He is doing it just because they spoke out against one of his bills. This is childish but it is also dangerous. It is wrong for someone in a position of power to abuse the trust they have been given. You know, he is losing his chance of being President by doing these things
