We visited the Orange Garage at Disney Springs and found multiple rows of the best real estate near the AMC and Level99 entrance blocked off for CFTOD. Each spot has an orange traffic cone topped with a laminated sign reading “Reserved for CFTOD Vehicles,” with a warning underneath that unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.
By our count, there are 40 spots reserved. The rows sit directly across from the escalators and entrance most guests use to reach AMC Theatres and Level99, making it some of the most convenient parking in the entire garage.
CFTOD, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, owns and operates the Disney Springs parking garages. Still, the number of spots taken up in such a prime location stands out. We spot-checked other levels and areas of the Orange Garage during our visit and did not see this kind of reserved signage anywhere else.
We do not know why CFTOD needs this many spots in this specific location, and there is no posted explanation beyond the reserved signage itself. We have reached out to the District, and we’ll update this story if we learn more.

Personally I think these spots should be reserved for the disabled and elderly.
How many board members are there? Would anything like this have ever been done in the Reedy Creek Improvement District days? I mean if they gave out movie passes to employees I might see the logic of this. But short of that Oversight while causing annoyance when you clearly aren’t the board doing inspections isn’t a precedent that should be set.
