Parking Lot Tram Service Remains Suspended at Hollywood Studios & EPCOT

More than 1,000 days after the theme parks reopened following the COVID shutdown, courtesy tram service still has not returned to 2 of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks. While Disney World initially promised the return of all parking lot tram service by the end of 2022, Disney quietly removed any mention of the service returning as it became clear that they simply didn’t want to bring the trams back.

Now, there have been no updates provided by the company even though they claim to be more focused on the guest experience. The planDisney website regularly fields questions about the return of tram service, even speculating that the January 2023 renaming of the parking lots and new sign installation at EPCOT foreshadowed parking lot trams returning. At this point, the lack of parking lot tram service at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT can only be chalked up to cost savings. With no updates from Disney World, it looks like guests should expect no parking lot tram service at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios at all this summer as the trams sit in the back of the Magic Kingdom parking lot, collecting dust.
