Access to Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Gate Blocked on Batuu

    Published:

While we’re anxiously holding our breath for news about the future of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser immersive hotel, there has been a recent change at Docking Bay 3 – the portal that guests would use to travel between the Starcruiser and the planet Batuu (aka Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge). Unfortunately, the latest change is likely unrelated to any future plans for the experience.

While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, we noticed new barricades at the gate that prevent guests from wandering too deep into Docking Bay 3. When the Starcruiser was operating, this gate would be open and guests would tap their M-Band to gain access to the shuttle that would take guests back to the ship.

Since the closure of the Starcruiser back in late September, fans of the experience have been tying ribbons with messages on them to the gate. The gate is actually out of view from the main portion of Batuu, so unless you knew what to look for, it’s quite hidden. Recently, Disney took down the ribbons and blocked off access to the gate.

Here’s a look at the area today, with themed crates blocking off the gate.
