Disney World Prepares to Open World Celebration at EPCOT Without Completing Construction on CommuniCore Hall

Thanks to updated aerial photos from friend of the site bioreconstruct, we have a closer look at a nearly completed World Celebration gardens in the center of EPCOT. In the aerial photo below, we can see that the central gardens of World Celebration are nearly ready to be unveiled to guests. The central EPCOT logo, while appearing off-center from the skies above EPCOT, will be the central focal point of the area, lighting up when the sun goes down and programed to interact with the Points of Light on Spaceship Earth.

What’s interesting to us is that a second layer of construction walls has been built within the construction site, suggesting that the CommuniCore Hall construction (bottom of image below), will remain closed off to guests after the rest of the area opens next month. It’s possible and even likely at this point that CommuniCore Hall will not open this year.

Disney World has not announced an opening date for World Celebration beyond “December” and it looks like at least the gardens will be open by that time. There is nothing of substance opening in the gardens beyond walking paths that, truth be told, are much needed.
