Pathway Adjacent to Moana Journey of Water Closed Following High-Pressure Valve Leak at EPCOT

A pathway adjacent to the Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana attraction at EPCOT is closed as crews repair a high-pressure valve leak. The leak started over a week ago and has been emitting air and a loud hissing sound since the incident began. Disney initially just put stanchions around the area and kept the pathway open. Now, as crews perform the repair, the walkway is closed to guests.

Here’s a look at the closed walkway, with alternative routes available. The Journey of Water attraction and Moana meet and greet are still open and unaffected by the work.

Here’s an on-the-ground look at the closure and work taking place.

The pipes underground carry water from the attraction to a pumphouse nearby. Here’s a look back at construction roughly in the same area as the leak.
