UPDATE (12:45pm): Disney World has provided clarification that there is not an app issue. More details are available in our updated article below.
Our original, outdated article continues below.
All-day Park Hopping has returned to Walt Disney World, and while the actual act of Park Hopping is going very smoothly, some guests are reporting issues with the Disney Genie+ service and Lightning Lane selections.
Reportedly, guests are unable to make Lightning Lane selections for anytime before 2pm for a park outside of their primary park for the day. For example, if you purchased Disney Genie+ and your Park Pass or ticket was tied to Magic Kingdom this morning, guests are unable to make a selection at any other park for a Lightning Lane before 2pm.
Of course, this was a restriction when Park Hopping was limited to after 2pm, but with all-day Park Hopping returning today, it looks like this restriction may still be experienced by guests. Cast Members we spoke with suggested that guests facing this issue speak with the blue shirt Guest Experience Team to log the issue and to potentially allow for a workaround on a case-by-case basis.
