While riding the monorail today (because there are no park reservations for Passholders), we noticed some construction underway next to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. The work is taking place in a backstage area, next to the gravity building and behind the former Universe of Energy footprint and current attraction queue.

The area under construction was previously a green space. Here’s a view of the work from the monorail. Disney has not announced any construction in the area, and the location of the construction site as a wholly backstage plot likely rules out any guest-facing expansions or additions. It looks like it could be a backstage parking lot, but that remains to be seen.
