DeSantis’ Disney Oversight District Board Chairman Martin Garcia Steps Down

According to a report from the Associated Press, Central Florida Tourism Oversight District chairman Martin Garcia has left his position. Garcia was supposed to serve through February 2027 and was appointed to his position by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Garcia is the second Board Member to depart with Michael Sasso leaving back in May 2023.

Garcia has essentially been DeSantis’ bulldog on the Board, making several impassioned speeches during his tenure against The Walt Disney Company and the former Reedy Creek Improvement District. Garcia spoke at a recent press conference alongside DeSantis as the two touted a year of success at the District.

News of Garcia’s departure comes after District Administrator Glen Gilzean also stepped down, and as the Board is deeply embroiled in legal battles with Disney.

  1. Doofus governor’s vendetta hit squad drying up and blowing away as his fortunes tank? A pleasant supposition.
