It looks like Glen Gilzean will be vacating his post as Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Administrator, despite his silence and the District’s Office of Public Information’s refusal to confirm his status after multiple attempts for clarification. A report from the Orlando Sentinel says that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has chosen a replacement for Gilzean, after appointing him as Orange County Supervisor of Elections.
The report says that DeSantis will recommend Stephanie Kopelousos, a top advisor and a member of DeSantis’ failed attempt to run for United States President. DeSantis’ hand-selected Board of Supervisors must approve Kopelousos, but DeSantis’ office reportedly considers it a done deal.
Kopelousos has previously served as secretary for the Florida Department of Transportation. Kopelousos has also served as the governor’s long-time director of legislative and intergovernmental affairs.
An official announcement from DeSantis has not yet been made.
