Detheming Nearly Complete at Former NBA Experience Building in Disney Springs

Earlier this month, Disney World began detheming the exterior metalwork at the former NBA Experience at Disney Springs. During a recent visit to Disney Springs today, we decided to check in on the project and found that the removal phase of the project was nearly complete.

The NBA Experience was open for just over two years, but with Disney World shutting down for COVID-19 in March 2020, the NBA Experience was effectively open for a disappointing 7 months.

Here’s a look back at the building facade before the removal, followed by an updated look at the building from this morning.

The big thematic pieces are sitting in a nearby parking lot, ready to be hauled away.
