Walt Disney World is gearing up for a summer of entertainment, and the theme park giant has announced opening dates for two all-new stage shows coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer. Here’s the latest!
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After Opens May 27th
First up is a show that puts a twist on the evil Disney Villains that we know so well. Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After aims to tell the stories of how unfairly they have been treated. The Magic Mirror is the centerpiece of the show, giving guests a glimpse into just how difficult it is to be a Disney Villain.
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After opens on May 27th in the Sunset Showcase venue (the former home of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. Here’s the announcement from Walt Disney World:

You don’t need to wait for a cursed spindle, a litter of puppies, or your motley pirate crew for this wickedness coming soon. Just announced, “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” will cast a spell over Hollywood Studios this Summer, starting on May 27, 2025.
In this new show, the villains we love to loathe take center stage. To figure out who has been the most misunderstood, the Magic Mirror summons you (yes, you!) to help him decide who’s been the most unfairly treated. The likes of Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent step into the spotlight to make their case about why they’ve been treated the most unfairly over the years. Step into this mysterious realm, where Disney’s most infamous baddies finally get their chance to share their side of the story.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure Opens May 27th
Over in Animation Courtyard, a newly reimagined show is set to debut on May 27th as well. The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is billed as a new show, but it should feel somewhat familiar to guests who visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios before 2020. A Musical Adventure tells the story of Ariel, inspired by the animated classic.
Disney says that guests can expect some new props, new puppets, and even some new songs when compared to the old version of the show. Here’s the announcement:

Journey under the sea with Ariel and friends starting on May 27, 2025, when this all-new theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic The Little Mermaid opens to fin-tastic applause.
This fully reimagined show will take the audience to Ariel’s treasure trove, keeping the lively puppets, props, and scenery center stage. But new to this production, get ready to be dazzled with new digital puppetry and jaw-dropping effects. Plus, the addition of new-to-the-show songs!
