UPDATE: ‘The Beak and Barrel’ Reservations Delayed to Next Week Following Technical Difficulties

A new update on the Walt Disney World website offers a little bit more information about the timing of when guests can expect The Beak and Barrel reservations to open up following today’s technical difficulties. As you may have heard, reservations for the highly anticipated Beak and Barrel Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar were supposed to go live today. Shortly before 6am, the dining reservation system for the Walt Disney World website and My Disney Experience app crashed. While we don’t know what caused the issue, Disney appeared to be working through the issue throughout the morning before offering a 1pm update that reservations wouldn’t open today. Now, we have a better idea of when guests can expect reservations to open.

The Beak and Barrel Reservations Delayed to Next Week

An update to the Walt Disney World website has confirmed that guests will be able to make Beak and Barrel reservations sometime next week. An exact date has not yet been identified, but Disney will take the weekend to sort through the issue before trying again next week. Disney said that they will share the new go-live date before reservations open to give guests a chance to prepare. There is no change to the August 29th opening date for the new Magic Kingdom bar.

Arrgh! Too many pirates tried to pillage at The Beak and Barrel. Thank you for yer patience. Come back for the treasure ye seek when reservations set sail the week of August 18, 2025.

The Beak and Barrel will open in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom on August 29, 2025, bringing a brand-new pirate-themed lounge to Walt Disney World. Located near Pirates of the Caribbean, this new offering will be the first full-service lounge in Magic Kingdom history, adding another option for guests looking to enjoy a bite to eat or a specialty beverage in the park.

The lounge is themed as a pirate tavern owned by Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her trusty parrot, Rummy. Inside, guests will find nautical decor, nods to Caribbean voyages, and an atmosphere that blends the adventurous spirit of Adventureland with the storytelling Disney is known for.

Food offerings will consist of small plates inspired by flavors from around the world, with a focus on shareable items perfect for groups. The Beak and Barrel will also serve a variety of beverages, including specialty cocktails, non-alcoholic creations, and drinks available in souvenir mugs.

Beyond food and drink, The Beak and Barrel is meant to be an experience. Story elements tied to Captain Merry Goldwyn and Rummy will be woven throughout, giving the space a narrative that ties directly to its Adventureland location.
