Walt Disney World Fixes Sinking Dock at EPCOT

Walt Disney World appears to have fixed a dock that was sinking in EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon. Last month, we noticed that the FriendShip dock at the Morocco Pavilion was partially submerged and appeared to be sinking beneath the water level. On a recent visit to EPCOT, it looks like Disney fixed the issue, and the dock is now above the water level again. As a reminder, the Morocco dock was closed anyway, so no guests were using the dock at the time we spotted the issue.

First, here’s a look back at the dock the last time that we checked in on it. As you can see, a portion of the dock had slipped beneath the water, sinking below the surface.

Here’s a look at the same dock, as spotted during a recent visit to EPCOT. Minus a pressure washing, the dock looks to be in much better shape now. It is entirely above the surface of World Showcase Lagoon. The dock still isn’t in use, though, as the FriendShip service now connects Germany and Canada, skipping Morocco and Mexico.
