Walt Disney World has updated its entertainment schedule for Magic Kingdom, removing showtimes for the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade on two dates in November. Typically, the removal of the Festival of Fantasy Parade from the operating schedule in November suggests possible dates for the special taping of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade for the annual ABC holiday specials. Here’s the latest.
Magic Kingdom Christmas Parade Taping Dates
As far as reading tea leaves goes, this is about as sure a bet as it gets with Walt Disney World. The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade has had showtimes removed for November 8th and November 9th, suggesting those are the two dates for the Christmas parade taping at Magic Kingdom.
Typically, we’ll see Disney add showtimes for the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade for taping dates, but they haven’t done so yet. We’ll be sure to update you when the showtimes have been added.
The Christmas parade taping includes a full run-through of the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade during daylight hours, as well as a chance to see special guests and celebrities.
In the past, it was much easier to view the parade taping. However, Disney has been filling Main Street USA with Cast Members for the parade taping in recent years. Last year, Disney blocked off access to Main Street USA, routing guests through backstage areas to keep them off camera. This made viewing the parade difficult to impossible down Main Street USA. That said, the parade runs the full route, so you’ll still be able to watch in Frontierland, and likely in front of Cinderella Castle as well.
As a reminder, Disney updated the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade last year, debuting a new soundtrack and adjustments to the parade itself. To see the current version of the parade, check out our video below!
