2026 Christmas Parade Taping Dates Revealed

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is stepping into the daylight at Magic Kingdom next month. Walt Disney World has scheduled 2:00pm performances of the holiday parade on November 10th and November 11th, which lines up with the annual taping for the ABC holiday special. That gives day guests a chance to see the Very Merry Christmas Party favorite without a party ticket. Here’s the latest.

Magic Kingdom Christmas Parade Taping Dates for 2026

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • The 2026 dates and showtime for daytime performances of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.
  • Where guests have been able to watch the parade during past tapings.
  • What has changed in the parade over the past two years.

The holiday season arrives at Magic Kingdom in just a few weeks, with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party opening on November 8th. Its signature parade usually rolls down Main Street USA only for party guests after dark. That makes the 2:00pm performances on November 10th and 11th a welcome treat for everyone else in the park.

Those dates fall on a Tuesday and a Wednesday, and neither is a party night. Both sit between the Very Merry Christmas Party dates on November 9th and November 12th.

Daytime performances in early November have pointed to the ABC Disney Parks Holiday Special parade taping in past years. In 2024, Disney put the daytime Christmas parade in place of the Festival of Fantasy Parade for two early November days. A similar swap is happening again this year.

The taping includes a full performance of the parade in daylight. Special guests and celebrities also appear for the annual ABC holiday special.

Where to Watch the Daytime Parade

Watching the taping takes a little more planning than it used to. Disney has filled Main Street USA with Cast Members during recent tapings. In 2024, as we noted last year, Disney blocked off Main Street USA entirely and routed guests through backstage areas to keep them off camera.

Frontierland is your best bet. The parade still travels its full route, so guests should be able to watch from Frontierland and Liberty Square. Cinderella Castle is likely another good spot, although it will be crowded. Afternoon light also shows off costume and float details that can get lost after dark, which makes this a great chance for photos.

What to Expect From the 2026 Parade

Disney confirmed the parade’s return when it began casting inline skaters for the 2026 holiday season back in March. The parade debuted a new soundtrack and other changes in 2024, weaving music from The Nutcracker around the classic “Once Upon a Christmastime” song.

Last year brought only a few small changes. Smoke now puffs from the chimney of Olaf’s cottage, and the ballroom waltz dancers traded their Dickens-style costumes for gold and blue. Opening night of the party on November 8th will offer the first look at this year’s version, two days before the first daytime performance.
