Wilderness Lodge Exterior Refurbishment to Continue Through Late 2026

Walt Disney World has issued an updated timeline for exterior refurbishment at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. The work, which began in August 2024, had previously not had an announced end date. In this article, we’ll take a look at the work, the newly announced 2026 end date, and previous updates on the project.

Wilderness Lodge Exterior Refurbishment Extended Through Late 2026

First, here’s a look at the current refurbishment message on the Wilderness Lodge webpage on the Walt Disney World website. It’s a little outdated, but we expect that it will be updated soon.

Beginning August 5, 2024, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo exterior refurbishment work. Additionally, from mid-May 2025 to September 2025, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins will undergo guest room refurbishments. While all resort amenities will remain available, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.

A newer message posted by Walt Disney World lists the new “late 2026” end date for the refurbishment.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are undergoing exterior refurbishment work expected to continue through late 2026. These enhancements may impact views from various locations throughout the Resort. While most resort amenities will remain available, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.
