Reservations Remain Wide Open on Eve of ‘Zootopia: Better Zoogether’ Preview

|

Tomorrow marks the first day that Annual Passholders can preview the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and there doesn’t seem to be an overwhelming amount of interest. As a reminder, Passholders who wish to preview the attraction must join a Virtual Queue to experience the attraction. For Passholders who want the best chance at ensuring a spot in the Virtual Queue, a Disney Park Pass theme park reservation is required. As of publish time, reservations are wide open. Here’s the latest.

Reservations Wide Open for Passholder Preview of New Zootopia Attraction at Animal Kingdom

On the eve of the start of Zootopia: Better Zoogether previews, both November 5th and November 6th have Disney Park Pass reservations available for Annual Passholders. For Passholders trying to have the best chance at previewing the new Zootopia attraction, a theme park reservation will be required. That said, Passholders who are ok taking their chances with the afternoon Virtual Queue distribution time, a theme park reservation is not required.

Ultimately, the availability of theme park reservations signals that interest in previewing the new Zootopia attraction is low. Very poor word of mouth from Cast Member and DVC previews has likely chilled enthusiasm for the attraction. Interest in the attraction was already low by a number of subjective measures, but there didn’t seem to be any increase in interest following word of mouth from Cast Member previews.

For context, Disney Park Pass theme park reservations had begun selling out days in advance of the previews for Moana – Journey of Water, a self-guided walkthrough attraction at EPCOT during 2023 previews. That’s probably the most apples-to-apples comparison we can think of for Zootopia.

Other attraction previews are not exactly on the same playing field as Better Zoogether, but Test Track 3.0 previews began selling out a little less than two weeks in advance, and reservations for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure were sold out a month in advance.

As we put the finishing touches on our review of the attraction, we’ll preview it a bit by saying that we aren’t fans of the implementation of Zootopia in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Stay tuned for the rest of our commentary as Annual Passholder previews kick off tomorrow!

  1. I think the biggest factor here is that the previews are during the day on Wednesday and Thursday, when most local pass holders are working. Add to that the early closing time of Animal Kingdom and I’m not surprised that it’s not “sold out.” If Disney really wanted to make this available to locals they would have had the previews on the weekends.
