BREAKING: Attraction Building Layouts Revealed for Villains Land & Cars Land at Magic Kingdom

|

A newly filed document is shedding more light on the layout of buildings for the upcoming Villains Land and Cars-themed Piston Peak National Park at Magic Kingdom. The new document, filed by Walt Disney World on January 16th, shows a layout of the buildings for the massive construction project that is currently underway in the northwest corner of Magic Kingdom. Here’s a look!

Building Layouts Revealed for Villains Land & Cars Land at Magic Kingdom

The new document shows multiple “facilities” or buildings, and their location in the former River of America basin. In total, the permit shows eight buildings, but only six of those buildings are likely to be guest-facing.

The new permit builds upon the “drain lines” permit that we spotted back in October. As you can see in the screenshot below, the buildings fall to either side of the drain lines, as we first speculated.

Here’s a little better view of the permit, overlayed on Google Maps, and then highlighted by BlogMickey.com to try and better parse out what building “belongs” to each area.

Speculating here, but it looks like the brown buildings at the southern end of the construction site will be for the Cars-themed area named Piston Peak National Park. These two “buildings” will likely be structures under the themed environments, similar to how Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a building enveloped by rockwork.

We believe that the red buildings “belong” to Villains Land. The long, thin rectangle could be a shopping area or a building of some sort to block views into Villains Land from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It could also be a launch station or themed scene for the anticipated Villains-themed roller coaster.

The red buildings at the back of the plot could be for the two major attractions and/or the shopping/dining that has been previously announced. The dark grey building to the left will almost certainly be a backstage building, and the dark grey building north of the red Villains building could also be a backstage building. It could also be a Villains Land railroad station, but it would be pretty big in comparison to other stations.

Oh, what about the purple building? That’s an interesting one. It’s directly next to the Haunted Mansion attraction. Could a Haunted Mansion lounge be on the way? Only time will tell. Let’s break this down a bit more, looking at the estimated size of each building.

Villains Land Building Layouts & Sizes

Pulling the permit into Google Earth to do some measuring, we get the following building sizes:

  • Northwest Building: 55,000 sqft
  • Northeast Building: 8,500 sqft
  • East Building: 83,000 sqft
  • Southwest Building: 16,000 sqft
  • Haunted Mansion building: 5,800 sqft
