End of Line: TRON Identity Program Quietly Discontinued at Magic Kingdom

|

The TRON Identity Program appears to have been quietly discontinued at Magic Kingdom following months and months of no interest from guests after deep discounts. The build-your-own action figure offering has been on the ropes for quite some time now. Earlier this Summer, Walt Disney World offered a steep discount on the offering, but it doesn’t appear to have been enough to save it. Here’s what we know.

TRON Identity Program Ends at Magic Kingdom

With the start of the new year comes some changes at Walt Disney World. While we have a rundown of important dates and major milestones for new attractions and offerings this year in an earlier article, there will also be some closures this year. One quiet closure is that of the TRON Identity Program. The customizable merchandise experience allowed guests to create an action figure with their face and voice, as well as create an Identity Chip that allows other merchandise items within the ecosystem to work with their voice or other customizable options. It was sort of the next evolution of the ACE Avatar Maker from Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

While the closure of the TRON Identity Program was quiet, it wasn’t completely unexpected. Back in the Summer, Disney discounted the offering from its normal $90 price tag down to $50. This matched the discount offered on the similar ACE Avatar Maker offering in Pandora – The World of Avatar.

When it was rumored that the ACE Avatar Maker would be discontinued back in October 2025, we wrote that the TRON Identity Program likely would be next to follow. Now, it looks like that prediction was correct.

Walt Disney World has removed the webpage for the TRON Identity Program, likely signaling the end of the offering.

In addition to removing the webpage for the offering, Walt Disney World has recently filed permits for construction in the Tomorrowland Launch Depot building, where the TRON Identity Program infrastructure is located. It is assumed that these small-scale permits are related to the closure of the TRON Identity Program, perhaps to remove the kiosks that guests would enter to build their action figure.
