Future Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro and current Disney CEO Bob Iger recently spent the morning at Disneyland to celebrate D’Amaro’s upcoming promotion. D’Amaro will take over as Disney CEO on March 18th at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders. At that time, Iger will step down and work in an advisory role until the end of 2026.

Iger posted photos to social media, saying that he “can’t think of a better way to celebrate Josh’s appointment”.

Iger and D’Amaro are said to have a good working relationship. D’Amaro is the current Chairman of the Disney Experiences division, which includes theme parks, cruise line, and consumer products.
D’Amaro has always been a theme park guy, previously serving as both the President of Disneyland Resort and the President of Walt Disney World Resort. D’Amaro joined the company in 1998 at Disneyland Resort.
D’Amaro’s other roles within Disney include leadership roles both in the U.S. and internationally, including in finance, business strategy, marketing, creative development, and operations.
