The Tomorrowland rock repainting project is about halfway done at Magic Kingdom, judging by my untrained (but hopefully observant) eye. We first told you about the repainting project last month as crews began to paint over the metallic purple look that has “graced” the Tomorrowland entrance for years. Crews have been taking advantage of the drained Cinderella Castle moat to access the rocks for a much-needed repaint. As it turns out, the themed finish is changing as well.
Tomorrowland Entrance Rocks Repainting Continues
First, here’s a look at the current state of the project. It appears that the northern side of the Tomorrowland bridge either has a finished look, or a closer-to-finished look than the south side of the bridge. We’ll have some comparison shots to hopefully prove our point. Basically, crews painted a dark base over the metallic purple before adding a more natural-themed finish. Granted, these rocks aren’t what you’d see in Frontierland or Fantasyland. They still have a bit of a sparkle to them that whispers “Tomorrowland”.
We’re going to start with the side that looks to be the furthest along before moving to the southern cluster of rocks that are much darker – awaiting the final finish.
