Following a mid-January announcement that the Yachtsman Steakhouse would close for a 3-month refresh, Walt Disney World has set a closure date for the steak restaurant.
Yachtsman Steakhouse Closing Date
According to the Walt Disney World website, Yachtsman Steakhouse will be closed starting May 11th. Disney’s previous statement said that they expect that the location will reopen by August. An exact reopening date has not yet been announced.
With a set closing date for Yachtsman Steakhouse, we can assume that the attached Crew’s Cup Lounge will be open by May 11th. The way that Disney worded the initial announcement made it seem that Crew’s Cup would close first and then reopen when Yachtsman closed.
Unlike the Crew’s Cup Lounge closure, which is listed as a refurbishment, the Yachtsman Steakhouse closure is described as a “refresh”. We most recently had a lovely meal at Yachtsman Steakhouse back in October, and I remarked that the space felt cozy and warm – something of a rarity for modern Walt Disney World restaurants.
While there are no announced details for the refresh, I would imagine that the carpet will be the first to go. I could also see the interior being brightened up with white tones replacing the warmth of natural wood. Light fixtures and other decor could also be the target of a refresh.
