While braving the Disney Skyliner during a heck of a breezy morning, we spotted some new, light blue columns for the upcoming Monsters Inc. Door Vault roller coaster. As we previously reported, Disney has begun installation of roller coaster columns for the family-friendly suspended roller coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here’s a look!
Light Blue Columns Staged for Monsters Inc. Roller Coaster
The light blue columns are scattered among the black columns in a staging area behind EPCOT. While we’re not 100% sure where the light blue columns will be, we assume that they will be part of the load station, where the supports could be implemented into the theme of the ride. I believe that the on-ride columns will be black to fade into the background a bit, but that’s just speculation.
Here’s a look at some other elements that are in the staging area. While not confirmed to be part of the Monsters Inc. Door Vault project, it is likely. It’s possible that we could be looking at a bunch of physical props to create the hundreds and hundreds of doors that will be scattered throughout the cavernous show building.
