While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, we stopped by the Walt Disney Studios Lot construction site to get a detailed look at Mickey Mouse’s sorcerer hat, now installed at The Magic of Disney Animation. We also noticed some new paint details as Disney prepares the area for a Summer opening. Here’s a look!
Mickey’s Magical Sorcerer Hat & New Paint Details
We’ll start with a detailed look at the sorcerer hat, installed last week at the entrance to The Magic of Disney Animation. The hat looks good, and work is continuing in the area to complete theming as Disney targets a late Summer opening timeframe for The Magic of Disney Animation.
As we get closer, we can start to see what appear to be little embedded lights. It’s possible that the hat will sparkle once the sun goes down!
Half of the building now has the red stripes that were present in the early concept art released for the reimagined area.
While The Magic of Disney Animation will open “later this Summer”, the Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show will be opening on May 26th. Taking a look at the soundstage where this show will be located, we can see that some touch-up work is underway.
