Olaf Draws did not open this morning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the class was still closed when we visited. The new class has had a rough start since debuting inside The Magic of Disney Animation, including a stretch in B-mode earlier this month. On top of that, guests cannot tell whether Olaf Draws is operating, because nothing in the My Disney Experience app shows its status.

Olaf Draws is the drawing class inside The Magic of Disney Animation, where an Audio-Animatronic Olaf leads guests through recorded lessons from Disney Animation artists. The class opened in September, but guests have found it closed for chunks of the day, and this morning is the latest example.
What We Saw at Olaf Draws This Morning
Beside the entrance, a digital sign read “No classes at this time” beneath the Olaf Draws logo, and a chain stretched across the queue area with no guests waiting inside.
Cast Members were advising guests to check back later today in hopes that the show would be operational again.
Why Olaf Draws Needs an Operational Status Indicator
Olaf Draws has spent time in B-mode, with a curtain over Olaf while a recorded video carries the lesson. Now it has closed for stretches of the day. Early hiccups happen with any new attraction, and Olaf Draws has had several.
We would like to see an operational status and a wait time for Olaf Draws in the My Disney Experience app, especially if the class keeps struggling. Both would help guests plan around a closure or a busy stretch before they walk across the park. Olaf Draws, when operational, is a fun thing to do for families. When it runs, we’ve seen guests coming out of the classes buzzing about the experience.
That said, right now it’s basically a shot in the dark on whether it’s working or not on any given day.
