While visiting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort recently, we noticed that construction has expanded, with scaffolding now enveloping the north-facing section of The Great Ceremonial House. When we stopped by, crews were installing more scaffolding in the Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace area, and the outdoor dining space was closed. Here’s the latest.

Scaffolding at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace Closed

As you can see, there is a lot of scaffolding surrounding the Great Ceremonial House (main building and lobby) at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The work began earlier this year and will continue for months to come. In our latest update below, you’ll see a lot of scaffolding, with crews installing at Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, the outdoor venue at the resort. As a result of the work, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is closed to guests. It’s unclear when the venue will reopen. There are no operating hours, and the only notice that Disney has released is the following:

Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is currently closed for refurbishment.
Walt Disney World

Of course, while the work has closed Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, that’s not the only venue impacted by the work. As we previously reported, views from the ‘Ohana restaurant will also be obstructed due to the scaffolding. Again, there’s no ending timeframe for the work, so if you’re planning to visit this Summer, expect to see the scaffolding here.
