Construction on the outdoor Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has moved into a new phase. On a recent visit, we spotted vertical support posts running along the low wall by the walkway. The work remains behind construction barriers, and Disney has not released official details of the planned changes.

New Shade Structure Coming to Brown Derby Lounge
Several tall vertical posts now stand along the pathway beside The Hollywood Brown Derby. Crews have paired them with concrete footings, each reinforced with rebar. Wooden form boxes sit nearby in the sandy groundwork. The nearby outdoor bar appears to remain untouched.
As we reported when construction first began, the project is said to add a new overhang along with other quality-of-life upgrades. Disney still hasn’t confirmed any of the project details yet. The posts and footings we’re now seeing would align with a covered structure.
Where to Find the Lounge Right Now
The walk-up lounge stays in its temporary spot in front of the former Starring Rolls Cafe for now. Guests can find red umbrellas, decorative and functional topiaries, and a check-in podium set up there for outdoor service. Signage nearby directs visitors to the relocated bar.
