The themed towers that once stood at the entrance to Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom are now completely gone. We stopped by the area this week to snap some photos of the removal and latest progress. The rockwork was completely clear, with no towers remaining on either side of the entrance. Demolition began earlier this summer, and it now appears finished.

The Final Tower Is Gone
When we first covered the demolition in June, crews had already removed the rocket-style tower on the right side of the entrance. They’d also taken down one of two domed towers on the left side. A second domed tower near Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe was still standing at that point.
That tower is no longer there. During our latest visit, the rockwork where it once stood was completely bare aside from landscaping.
A Look Back at the Entrance
Crews wrapped up a repainting project on the rockwork itself a little while ago, so that portion of the entrance has looked different for some time. The towers, though, had remained in place until this summer’s demolition began. Here’s a look back at the same stretch of rockwork on either side of the Tomorrowland entrance. This is when all of the towers were still standing, and the repainting work was wrapping up.
We noted last month that Tomorrowland has been going through a quiet, piecemeal reimagining for years now. Disney has pretty much handled it one attraction and one detail at a time. This entrance now joins that pattern. The 1994-era theming that once framed it is gone, and the rockwork sits naked for the first time in decades. Disney hasn’t said what, if anything, comes next for the space. For now, the entrance to Tomorrowland looks emptier than it has in a generation.
