Every Original Concept Haunted House Coming to Halloween Horror Nights 35

Universal Orlando Resort has finished revealing the original concept haunted houses for Halloween Horror Nights 35 this fall. The destination previously announced “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares” as this year’s event theme, transforming Universal Studios Florida into a decrepit, fear-fueled carnival for the 35th anniversary. Five houses make up this year’s lineup of homegrown horror, ranging from a clown and occultist’s rivalry to a defunct zoo turned cannibal battleground. Each draws from ideas built specifically for this event rather than existing film or TV franchises. Here’s a look at the HHN 35 original concept haunted houses!

Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control

Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow anchor this year’s marquee original house. Universal confirmed it as the first haunted house announcement of the 2026 season. The house traces the unsettling origins of both icons. From there, guests step through a portal into Dr. Oddfellow’s twisted Oddverse, where the two adversaries’ rivalry finally comes to a head.

Guests will find themselves caught between Jack and Oddfellow. The two icons battle for dominance throughout the house. Universal has billed the pairing as a showdown decades in the making. The two forces of horror ultimately prove most fearsome when combined rather than opposed.

Jack and Oddfellow also serve as the ringmasters of the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares” theme across the entire event, not just their own house. Universal has called Jack the Clown the most notorious icon in Halloween Horror Nights history, paired here for the first time with his legendary rival. This marks the first time the two nemeses join forces rather than face off as separate threats. Universal previously summed up the alliance simply: “a fear divided is a fear diluted.”

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!

Universal is bringing back the fictional horror host H.R. Bloodengutz for his own haunted house, set inside the WKNB television station. The premise finds Bloodengutz returning to host a special scare-athon on a stormy Halloween night. He tunes guests into a curated run of his favorite ghoulish, gore-filled TV moments.

Bloodengutz previously headlined a Halloween Horror Nights house in 2011. That history gives this year’s concept a nostalgic throughline for longtime fans, while it still works as a standalone haunt for newcomers. The house leans on the framing of a TV broadcast gone wrong. Guests move through a curated lineup of scares rather than a single-theme storyline.

MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals

This house drops guests into a group of survivors seeking shelter from a dystopian wasteland inside a defunct zoo. The animals that once lived there are long gone. In their place: warring cannibal factions who have taken their instincts to a far more primal extreme.

Universal says you’ll find yourself firmly at the bottom of the food chain. The cannibal factions control what’s left of the old zoo grounds. We expect to find a familiar setting overtaken by animalistic violence, which drives the tension throughout the house. We can’t wait to find an atmosphere built around survival and territorial conflict.

Cybergoria

Cybergoria imagines a future in which humanity entered machine-induced cryo-sleep on the promise of eventual immortality. Instead, guests will find humans wake up stripped of flesh and transformed by cybernetic caretakers. That world runs cold and mechanized, built around one goal: keeping people alive forever, regardless of the cost.

This concept leans into body horror driven by machinery. Guests will need to brave that cold, mechanized world to make it through the house.

INVASION: Alien Abduction

INVASION puts guests in the middle of an alien abduction at a ravaged Southwestern homestead. A ship full of Grays has torn the property apart in search of test subjects. Guests scramble through the wreckage while surviving probing tentacles and making contact with horrors from beyond the galaxy.

Universal says that these Grays don’t come in peace. That framing puts guests in the position of becoming targets themselves.

Halloween Horror Nights 35 runs for 48 select nights from August 28th through November 1st at Universal Studios Florida. This year marks the event’s 35th anniversary. These five original houses join the event’s slate of houses based on outside franchises. The final IP-driven house is expected to be announced soon.
