Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad’s Jams is now operating in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and our new video covers all nine songs on the setlist. The soundtrack debuted September 25th, following the attraction’s new name and song announcement earlier this month. Our video includes a snippet of every track and full versions of both original songs. It also has a full recording of a surprise instrumental version of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You.”

Lilypad’s Jams is the new soundtrack for the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction, and Lilypad, a character from Toy Story 5, serves as the in-story DJ. Disney says Imagineers recorded the music in Nashville across pop, country, EDM, and alt-rock. From what we observed, the nine songs play in this order:
- I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away
- You’ve Got a Friend in Me
- Woody’s Roundup (Remix)
- Spin It Back, Lilypad (original song)
- Partysaurus Rex Anthem
- Pizza Planet Promo (original song)
- We Belong Together
- Buzz Beats!
- Hay Un Amigo En Mi
Three classics got new arrangements built around the attraction’s spinning energy, according to Disney. Those are “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “We Belong Together,” and “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away.” “Hay Un Amigo En Mi” is the Spanish-language version of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” Disney also singled out Partysaurus Rex for more airtime in the new mix, and the setlist includes a “Partysaurus Rex Anthem.”
Two brand-new songs round out the lineup. Disney describes “Pizza Planet Promo” as an in-story theme song for the pizza arcade and “Spin It Back, Lilypad” as a tribute to Lilypad herself. Both originals play in full in our video.
Thomas Niederhiser, Senior Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, said the team wanted the new originals to be “singable, sincere, and a little cheesy.” He pointed to the Pizza Planet song as an example.
The Surprise Song: I Knew It, I Knew You
Our video also includes a surprise song, an instrumental version of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You”. We’ve got the full version in our video. It plays at random, so it does not sit in the fixed nine-song order, but we heard it between “We Belong Together” and “Buzz Beats!” when we visited Toy Story Land.
In true surprise song fashion, Disney’s announcement did not list the song. We don’t know how often it plays, but Cast Members suggested that it may play once or twice per hour. Unfortunately, Alien Swirling Saucers broke down shortly after we finished recording. When the attraction isn’t operating, the songs stop playing, as you might imagine. I hope Imagineers are able to work on some sort of B-mode for Lilypad when the ride isn’t working.
Lilypad Outside the Ride
Lilypad also DJs for the entire backyard, so the musical update reaches guests who don’t ride the attraction. Lilypad introduces tracks and offers a drawing guessing game, puzzles to unscramble, and recorded “home videos” featuring other Toy Story characters. These interstitial videos play between songs, while guests enter and exit the attraction.
Lilypad, in physical form, is a new arrival to Toy Story Land. That said, a Lilypad-inspired Screen Time Swirl Float was offered at Woody’s Lunch Box this summer, and Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear picked up Toy Story 5-inspired costume details earlier this year. Toy Story 5 began streaming on Disney+ on September 23rd, two days before the soundtrack debuted.
