Disney World Begins Canceling Reservations Ahead of Wolfgang Puck Permanent Closure at Disney Springs

Walt Disney World has started calling guests to cancel their dining reservations at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, and Cast Members making those calls are telling guests the restaurant will not be open going forward. Neither Disney nor Wolfgang Puck has issued any public confirmation of a permanent closure. However, the calls line up with what the website has already shown for days: September 13th is the final day of operation. Here’s the latest.

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill | Disney Springs Reservation Cancellations

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • Disney is proactively calling guests to cancel existing reservations at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill
  • Cast Members are telling guests the restaurant will not reopen, going beyond the website’s quiet removal of availability
  • Disney and Wolfgang Puck still have not issued any public confirmation of a permanent closure

Cast Members Are Calling to Cancel Reservations

Guests who booked Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill for dates beginning September 14th are now hearing directly from Walt Disney World. Cast Members are proactively calling to cancel those reservations, offering to help guests book a meal at a different restaurant. Despite silence from proper channels at Walt Disney World, Cast Members are plainly telling guests that the restaurant will not be open anymore.

As we reported when the Walt Disney World website first quietly cut off bookings after September 13th, the webpage itself never stated a reason. The calls from Cast Members are the first real confirmation that the venue is closing up shop.

This Lines Up With the Website Changes

Those cancellation calls are consistent with what the Walt Disney World website has shown since early September. Reservations remain visible (although “fully” booked) through Sunday, September 13th, and no dates are bookable starting Monday, September 14th. Availability at the other Disney Springs restaurants around Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill has not changed.

Still No Confirmation From Disney or Wolfgang Puck

Walt Disney World has not returned requests for comment about the permanent closure. Wolfgang Puck’s team has also not made any public statement. Further, Disney has not named a replacement concept for the space.

Cast Members canceling reservations and telling guests the restaurant is done is about as firm as the information gets right now. We’ll continue watching for confirmation and will update this article as more comes in.
