A section of the Rivers of America is now completely drained at Magic Kingdom. The draining of the river comes over 8 months into the refurbishment of the Liberty Square Riverboat. The river is drained to allow workers access to the track and surrounding areas. We made it out to Magic Kingdom this morning to take a variety of photos from Frontierland, Liberty Square, and Tom Sawyer Island.

Tom Sawyer Island remains open through the refurbishment of the Rivers and Riverboat. The barrel bridge is not open due to a lack of water.
Disney has stated that the refurbishment will be completed in Fall 2018.
