Well, we’ve waited patiently for this day. We rope dropped Aloha Isle a week ago when the Hei Hei Cone first hit the menu on Disney’s website only to be told that it was posted to the site too early and that a whole lineup of treats was coming on February 24th. Fast forward to last Thursday when Disney finally announced the Hei Hei Cone along with the other treats we were told about. Today, we were back at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom and ready to finally try the new take on a dole whip. Here are our thoughts and photos.
Hei Hei Cone Dole Whip – $5.29
Blue Cone filled with a layer of Pineapple DOLE Whip®, Raspberry Soft-serve, Sugar-Piece Eyes and a Sour Candy ‘Comb’
Well, here it is. It’s not much to look at, but it’s lovable in a way. The Dole Whip base is standard and enjoyable as always. The raspberry came through wonderfully on top and the flavor hit the mark. Ever since visiting Tropical Hideaway in Disneyland we’ve been wanting to see some more flavors added to a Dole Whip and this is a great start! The sugar-piece eyes were just as expected, a block of sugar. The sour candy topper was very sour and a nice way to finish the ice cream cone.
Overall, it’s a really nice ice cream/Dole Whip combo, if not much to look at. We can recommend this treat!
