Disney has released some new visuals of the Disney Skyliner gondola cabins. As we get closer to the launch of the new transportation system this fall, Disney continues their slow trickle of information. We say slow because we’ve been closely covering every aspect of the project from capturing the first Disney Skyliner gondola cabin to travel the line to visiting the IAAPA trade show to talk with the manufacturer constructing the system.
Disney released the following video where Walt Disney World Resort Senior Vice President Thomas Mazloum and Walt Disney Imagineering Principal Architect Dean Huspen tell you more about the gondola system.
For a look inside the cabins, we’ve captured a few stills from the video. The cabins will hold up to 10 guests and travel between the resorts and parks in minutes. For more on the travel times released for each leg of the Disney Skyliner route, check out our earlier post.
Here’s a look at the same model cabin that we showed you in November of last year.
Disney showed off the passive ventilation system that will keep guests “comfortable” when traveling along the line. As a reminder, the cabins will not have A/C.
Here’s the same ventilation system that we showed you from last year.
There will be 22 different character themes and eight solid colored cabins. There will be over 300 cabins in use at any given time, which should make the Disney Skyliner gondola system a highly efficient mode of transportation.
According to Disney, the Disney Skyliner gondola system will debut later this fall.
