Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now open at Disneyland and there is so much to explore and do! We’re in the process of collecting all of our thoughts, photos, and videos, but we wanted to bring you something truly special today. While visiting Batuu, we have spent a lot of time talking with the locals and asking them to show us some of the details that we might have missed ourselves.
We were talking with one higher ranking Batuuan who asked where we were from. We told her we were from their sister planetary system in Orlando and that we just had to come out to Disneyland first. When she heard we were from Orlando, she immediately shared that Dok-Ondar had something in his possession that had made the long journey from Orlando too.
If you’re unfamiliar with his backstory, Dok-Ondar is the proprietor of Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities where he presides over the sales transactions taking place while taking stock of all of his possessions. Dok-Ondar has relics from all across the galaxy and is willing to part with them for the right price.
Luckily for us, Dok-Ondar has a Walt Disney World relic in his possession as well. Even better is that you don’t have to wait in any lines to enter his store to see it!
On display just to the right of the entrance to his shop is a collection of items he just couldn’t fit into his shop. The local Batuuans told us that the foot located on top of his crates is actually from a recently closed Walt Disney World attraction!
If you’re still stumped, it’s from The Great Movie Ride! That’s right! This foot made the journey out to Black Spire Outpost by way of smugglers and opportunists to fall into Dok-Ondar’s hands. The foot is actually from an anubis statue from the Indiana Jones scene of the attraction and weathered up a bit from the journey.
We’ll continue to bring you content in the days to come after we’ve made our journey back from Batuu to Orlando. In the meantime, if you want some more content from inside the land, check out our Twitter feed!
‘Til the Spire.
