Iconic Epcot Entrance Fountain Now Behind Construction Walls

|

Just a few days after construction walls popped up around the eastern Leave a Legacy monoliths, we now have a better idea about the scope of the upcoming construction. Originally thought to just entail the immediate area around the Leave a Legacy monoliths, the construction zone has now expanded to include the Epcot entrance fountain. Chances are that you have a photo of you or your family in front of this fountain as one of the first photo ops presented to you when you walk into Epcot.

We made it out to Epcot this afternoon to take a look at just how expansive this phase of the entrance overhaul project will be. We’ll try to frame today’s photos wiyh a comparison photo from just a few days ago.

Our last photo illustrates just how close the walls have gotten to Spaceship Earth and why there was an obvious need for a new rope drop procedure.

Here are some more photos of the work from an elevated vantage point on the monorail.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com for the latest on the Epcot entrance overhaul and much more from around the Disney Parks!
