We made it out to Magic Kingdom today and took to the monorail to get a good look at the work taking place at the park entrance. If you haven’t made it out to Magic Kingdom recently, you might be surprised to see just how many walls there are at the park entrance. As Disney works to overhaul the arrival experience for guests, they are removing the Walk Around the World bricks from the entrance. For a closer look at the changes coming to the front of the park as part of an overhauled entrance experience, check out our post breaking down the changes.
Back to today, we have two main areas of interest. First, here’s the work taking place on either side of the resort boat dock pathway. As you can see, a complete demolition of the bricks and concrete has taken place in preparation for new hardscape and green spaces.
On the opposite side of the monorail beam, we see that the old bus loop bag check area has been completely demolished as well. Of course, there is a temporary bag check in use during the construction of a new area.
