A Seafarer’s View of the Magic Kingdom Boat Launch Construction

While it’s oftentimes more convenient for us to simply jump aboard the monorail to get an elevated view of the western boat launch under construction at the Magic Kingdom entrance, we found ourselves sailing between Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Magic Kingdom to try and provide a unique view of what amounts to roof construction at the Poly. All told, the efforts to provide a different angle of the crossbeam construction were successful, so we set our sights on the boat launch to provide an on-water view of the construction. Here’s a look at the latest progress, which should be wrapping up shortly and potentially provide an opportunity for the Grand Floridian walkway to open.

In the immediate two photos to follow, you’ll notice two structures with brown tarp roofs. The larger of the two is a shade/shelter for the boat launch and the smaller structure is for a security screening area.
