Temporary Character Spot Location Now Open at Epcot

A new Character Spot location is open this morning to accommodate the old location closing overnight for the Epcot overhaul project. The new location takes over a section of Innoventions West that isn’t scheduled to be demolished just yet, but will be in the future to make room for the new Moana-inspired attraction called the Journey of Water.

The new Character Spot location still features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy for now. Eventually, Mickey Mouse is planned to take over a space in the Imagination Pavilion, Minnie Mouse is planned to move out to the World Showcase gazebo, and Goofy is planned to “venture out into the park”, according to Disney.

Here’s a look around the temporary Character Spot meet and greet area that opened today!

Mickey Mouse came out to greet us!

The space is themed to travel and features postcards, Epcot scenes, and modes of transportation projected on to the walls.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com for the latest on the Epcot overhaul project!

    • Nope, this is the other side of Innovention West that has been abandoned for the last 4 years since it closed. You can see all the old Innoventions stuff is still there behind the walls. It’s really sad they have just abandoned this space and are now demolishing everything instead of reusing it.
