Officials from the Florida Department of Health were among a team of officials that toured Walt Disney World today ahead of Disney’s reopening announcement tomorrow. Also part of the tour were Orange County officials.

The tour at Walt Disney World follows the procedures set forth by the Orange County Task Force, and follows a similar tour that occurred at Universal Orlando ahead of their announcement too. In a press conference this afternoon, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said that he has not yet received the inspection report.

Demings also said in the press conference that he has seen a draft presentation from Walt Disney World and SeaWorld, but that the draft doesn’t represent their final presentations that will occur tomorrow. Demings did say that the draft presentations have information on how to keep both guests and Cast Members safe during their visit.

Some topics to be covered include safety measures for parking, guest requirements for entry, food purchasing, and social distancing both inside and outside of queues. When asked about the plans to be presented by Disney, Demings said that the presentations will be similar, and that a lot of the safety measures that will be in place at Universal Orlando will also be in place at Walt Disney World. Demings said the reason for the overlap is not only because of safety best practices, but also consistency for guests visiting any of the area attractions.

After the presentation, the Orange County Task Force will vote to either approve or deny the plans. If approved, Demings will then write a letter of endorsement to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
