The Pirates League, the pirate transformation experience, has been turned into a Cast Member break room and will not reopen to guests, managers in the area told BlogMickey.com. The experience was set to close permanently on July 26, 2020, but the space is being utilized as a socially distanced break room for Cast Members who work in the area.
Here’s how Disney describes The Pirates League:
“Ahoy! Think you’ve got what it takes to join the Pirates League? Come aboard for a swashbuckling pirate transformation that can include a hairstyle, facial effect and other special treasures. Or choose a deluxe head-to-toe makeover into a mesmerizing mermaid or pirate captain!
To complete your initiation, the Pirate Masters will give you a unique name—and share stories of life on the high seas.”
Before the theme parks closed, Disney didn’t say what would replace the experience. With budgets tight across the board, it’s unlikely that we’ll hear anything soon as to what the space might be used for in the future.
