In a memo to Cast Members, Disney has officially announced the closure of two attractions and a nighttime spectacular.
Perhaps the most surprising of the closures is the permanent closure of Rivers of Light, the nighttime spectacular at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney didn’t offer a reason for the decision yet, but with shorter park hours, Animal Kingdom has been closing at 6pm nightly.
Also confirmed were the permanent closures of Primeval Whirl and Stitch’s Great Escape. Primeval Whirl recently operated during high attendance times, but Stitch’s Great Escape has been closed for quite some time now.
Disney has yet to provide more details, but when they do, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
The last time I was at the MK, I rode the Alien-type ride that preceded Stitch and boy, did that ride scare me (I literally peed in my pants). I’ve heard Stitch was a bust from Day 1 so I wonder what will go there instead.
Please bring back Alien Encounter.
