Disney World Files Permit for “Project Nugget”, Related to Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

|

Disney has just filed a permit for work on the fireworks launch point located just north of Magic Kingdom. While the permit is largely unremarkable in the description of the work, the description of the property address is notable.

First, the permit is listed for electrical work at 1440 Floridian Way, which is where the fireworks launch point is for Magic Kingdom’s nightly spectaculars. Of course, during the initial reopening phase, there are no nightly fireworks shows at any of the theme parks. The filing of this permit is interesting not only because Disney is working on the launch point, but because the permit lists something called “MK Project Nugget“.

In our experience, permits only get “project” tagging when they are part of a larger scope of work, such as the Project M notation for early permits surrounding Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Project H (Hubble) for for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel, or Project D (Delos) for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

While we aren’t aware of what Project Nugget might mean in the context of this permit, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with the latest as we learn more!
