As we continue to keep an eye on wait times across Walt Disney World, we wanted to put together a weekly recap of wait times at the theme parks. Here’s the week in review, from Monday, October 12th through Sunday, October 18th. Data courtesy of @wdwwait.
Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom had an average wait time of 35.2 minutes, making it the “busiest” week on record since the theme parks reopened back in mid-July. In the chart below, we can see that Saturday was the busiest day, and the beginning of the week was generally a better time to visit.
EPCOT
EPCOT may have had a more consistent week than Animal Kingdom, but it was consistently higher. EPCOT averaged a 31.9 minute wait time. Just like Disney’s Animal Kingdom, if you want to beat the average time, Monday-Wednesday is a great time to visit.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Disney’s Hollywood Studios comes in with the highest average wait time for the week, sitting at 44.7 minutes. Unlike EPCOT and Animal Kingdom, you’ll want to avoid the early week at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with Tuesday and Monday pulling the highest average waits respectively. A Thursday, Friday, or Sunday visit would have been the only days where you could beat the average.
When compared to other weekly averages since the park reopened, we’re nearly double the averages seen in the first few weeks of operation, but on par for averages since mid-September.
Magic Kingdom
Finally, we arrive at Magic Kingdom, which barely edges out EPCOT has having the lowest average wait times this week at 31.5 minutes.
This marks the first week where Magic Kingdom has averaged more than 30 minutes since the parks reopened. We’d plan a mid-week visit to Magic Kingdom to beat the average by 15% or more.
