Disney World Weekly Wait Time Recap (Oct. 26 – Nov. 1)

As we continue to keep an eye on wait times across Walt Disney World, we wanted to put together a weekly recap of wait times at the theme parks. Here’s the week in review, from Monday, October 26th through Sunday, November 1st. Data courtesy of @wdwwait.

    Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has, once again, experienced a drop in wait time averages. Disney’s Animal Kingdom saw a 29% reduction in wait time averages compared to the week of October 19-25. Disney’s Animal Kingdom saw an average wait time of 21.1 minutes for the week ending November 1st, marking the lowest average waits since late-September.

Just about every day of the week beat the average, with the Sunday November 1st really inflating the average wait. If we were to throw out Sunday, we’d get an average wait of 19.4 minutes – early September numbers. Let’s see if these types of trends continue with other theme parks.

Best days to visit: Tuesday, Wednesday (backup: Friday)

    EPCOT

EPCOT also experienced a week-over-week drop in wait time averages to the tune of a 17% decrease.

The average wait time at EPCOT for the week ending November 1st was 22.2 minutes. This aligns with late-September averages, just like what we saw with Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Best days to visit: Tuesday, Monday (backup: Wednesday)

    Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We’re headed over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios next, which still claims the top spot for highest average wait times. That said, we did see an 18% reduction in week-over-week averages, matching the decrease seen at EPCOT. For the week ending November 1st, the average wait at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was 36.4 minutes.

The 36 minute average wait is consistent with early September averages. So, while Disney’s Hollywood Studios experienced a smaller decrease in average week-over-week wait compared to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests visiting Studios experienced early-September waits versus late-September waits at Animal Kingdom.

For the first time in weeks, the weekend didn’t have the lowest average wait times.

Best days to visit: Wednesday, Thursday (backup: Sunday)

    Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom saw very similar numbers to EPCOT, averaging 22.3 minutes for the week ending November 1st. This represents a 21% reduction in week-over-week average waits!

The 22.3 minute average wait aligned with averages from mid-to-late September.

Best days to visit: Wednesday, Thursday (backup: Tuesday)

Finally, we’ll take a look at the average wait times across all four theme parks, by day:

    • Monday, October 26 – 26.5 minutes
    • Tuesday, October 27 – 22.1 minutes
    • Wednesday, October 28 – 21.6 minutes
    • Thursday, October 29 – 22.1 minutes
    • Friday, October 30 – 28.0 minutes
    • Saturday, October 31 – 29.1 minutes
    • Sunday, November 1 – 29.2 minutes

As you can see, there’s a 27% difference in average wait times when comparing the lowest average waits on Wednesday to the highest average waits on Saturday, but that highlights why picking a specific park on a specific day is so important.

Here are the spreads for the lowest and highest averages for each park:

    • Animal Kingdom – 48% difference between Tuesday and Saturday
    • EPCOT – 44% difference between Tuesday and Saturday
    • Hollywood Studios – 27% difference between Wednesday and Monday
    • Magic Kingdom – 39% difference between Wednesday and Friday
