While visiting EPCOT recently, we were treated to what we believe is the first-ever view of the centerpiece “ring” barge testing its various water fountains. The barge consists of two water effects – water jets and a massive water screen. We’ll have a look at the water screen in a bit, but we’ll start with the daytime fountain effect.
First, here’s a look at the daytime fountain concept art. Because these barges are permanently installed on World Showcase Lagoon, Disney will attempt to beautify the lagoon by turning the massive metal barges into fountains.
Here’s a look at a portion of the fountain effect in testing at different pressure levels.
While this is only a portion of the daytime fountain effect, it’s clear that Disney has their work cut out for them if they intend to try and beautify the lagoon with these massive barges installed.
