Following the removal of the “taco” and “stargate” Harmonious hardware from World Showcase Lagoon, crews are now removing the supporting infrastructure that was installed specifically for the short-lived nighttime spectacular. As you can see in our photos below, crews are removing the satellite docks that the “tacos” connected to in order to operate.
Originally, Harmonious was intended to be a long-term show (read: 5 years or more), and the hardware was supposed to be mobile. The idea was that the tacos would roll out to World Showcase Lagoon in the evenings and preserve the lagoon view during the daytime. That proved to be untenable and Disney World decided to announce that the hardware would be obscured by a fountain effect during the day.
In 2020, Imagineer Zach Riddley announced that the Harmonious hardware would “provide a new energy to the park during the daytime, too, with fountains out on the lagoon” and released the following concept art.
The fountains never materialized as a daily offering and Disney World eventually decided that the hardware was too unsightly during the day and evolved language surrounding Harmonious, tying the expensive investment to the 50th Anniversary and announcing the show would be ending far sooner than internal expectations.
Now, with the hardware removed from World Showcase Lagoon, crews are detaching the satellite docks and infrastructure from an electrical hub that will likely remain to support future shows – just as it has been in place to support past nighttime spectaculars.
Yesterday, we noticed that crews had removed the “Germany” support dock and that they were in the process of removing the “Morocco” support dock today. Here’s a look at the ongoing work to strip World Showcase Lagoon of any memory of Harmonious.

A large crane is staged at the Morocco dock where crews are working on disconnecting the infrastructure before removing the dock completely.
There’s even a diver in the water to disconnect power lines and the like.
Disney has announced that a new nighttime show will debut later this year as part of the Disney100 celebration at EPCOT. Disney World provided the following description of the show, as well as a single piece of concept art:
Guests will be treated to the debut of an all-new EPCOT nighttime spectacular later this year. A dazzling display of music, pyrotechnics, lasers and lighting, the show will feature an original composition and evocative selections from the Disney songbook – all woven together to remind us that we are more alike than different.
