As part of a media event today touting the next season of the Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration, attendees were given the opportunity to preview the interaction that guests wearing a MagicBand+ will have with the Fab 50 character statues around the theme parks. As guests approach a Fab 50 statue, their MagicBand+ will vibrate as a queue to wave their hands in front of the statue to activate a sound or phrase from the character. We previously saw that Disney was retrofitting the statues with speakers to bring this functionality to life.
